On May 8th at 6:00pm, join us at the library to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Retired Army Colonel John Dwyer will be presenting a 90-minute program highlighting the role that U.S. Army Medics played in the Battle for France in 1944. During the program he will wear the uniform and equipment that was carried by the Army medics who treated the wounded and sick in combat. He will explain about the "Geneva Cross" the medics wore, and the reason they carried no weapons. Questions will be welcomed throughout the presentation.
No registration required.
