The Diversity of Black Joy, a Juneteenth program will be presented by Alliah Agostini on Thursday, June 8th from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM.

Alliah is a local author, who has been featured on CNN and in the Washington Post for her work. She is the author of The Juneteenth Story and Big Tune: The Rise of the Dancehall Prince and will be doing a short read-aloud as well as a Q&A session during the event.

Alliah made her debut with The Juneteenth Story when it was published last year. Her book was featured on the TODAY Show with Hoda & Jenna and named Best Historical Book by the 2022 Black KidLit Awards. The story provides an introduction to Juneteenth for kids and details the emancipation celebration commemorating the date the enslaved people of Texas learned of their freedom.

This program is recommended for children ages 4 to 10. Space is limited, and no registration is required. Program will be first come, first served. Contact the Children's Department at 973-285-6980 with any questions.

This program is sponsored by the Morris County Library Foundation.
