Join us on Saturday, April 18th, at the Morris County Library for a celebration of local authors with a day of fun activities! This year, we will be celebrating the United State's 250th birthday! Morris Authors Day begins at 10:30am and will go until 2:30pm and is open to all ages. Please note, children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Morris Authors Day begins with Taking Sides in Revolutionary New Jersey: Caught in the Crossfire with Dr. Maxine Lurie. This program will take place from 11:00am to 12:00pm in the public meeting room. During this program, Dr. Lurie will discuss how she came to write Caught in the Crossfire and share her insights on the difficulties faced by New Jerseyans during the war years of the American Revolution.

At 12:15pm award winning author Mally Becker will trace the unexpected path that led her from the Morristown National Historical Park's archives to writing her three-book Revolutionary War mystery series. Focusing on Morristown and British-occupied New York City, her talk will explore espionage, survival, and the ordinary people caught between loyalties, and offer fresh insight into a past that feels strikingly modern.

From 1:30 - 2:30pm join author Michael C. Gabriele as he discusses how New Jersey's colonial taverns became the main stage for key debates, recruitment stations for colonial militias, meeting places for local committees of safety, as well as headquarters for George Washington.

Drop-in activities will also be available throughout the day. Local authors will have tables set up for book signings, children's activities will be available, and more.

Please note that while registration is not required for Morris Authors Day events, seating for author presentations is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
