Learn about prep, equipment, maps, food, support and more for day and overnight treks on the Appalachian Trail, Long Path, Highlands Trail and more. This program will take place on Wednesday, April 24th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm and is recommended for adults. 

During this program, Trail Conference member, Don Weise and Kim Levinsky, from Sassquad Trail Running, will share their experiences and knowledge. 

Kim Levinsky is the founder and director of Sassquad Trail Running, a local organization that hosts trail races throughout the year. Sassquad hosts trail races, group runs, trail workdays, and clinics throughout New Jersey and New York and is open to all ages and paces, making it a welcoming environment for first time trail runners. Levinsky recently achieved Fastest Known Time (FKT) running the 358-mile Long Path from Fort Lee NJ to Albany NY. 

Don Weise is an author, hike leader, environmental advocate, and Trail Conference Life Member. His new book Circuit Hikes in Harimann is the first ever comprehensive guide to circuit hikes in these two highly popular parks. With 35 total loop hikes, including 8 hikes that can also be suitable for other uses, this guidebook is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the rich network of trails. 

Participants will also hear about Morris County trails and the new Trail Conference map and guide.
