The Morris County Library has a fun-filled winter programs schedule!

Our popular Preschool Story Time and Music with Mr. Laurence returns on Tuesday, January 24th. Children ages 2 to 5 can join us for stories, fingerplays, and music. Story Time will be held each Tuesday from January 24th to February 28th. All sessions are from 10:00am to10:30am.

This winter the library will be trying something a little different with Grab and Go STEAM Projects! Projects are recommended for ages 5 to 12, and each family can pick up one project to work on together. STEAM projects will be available for pickup on the following Saturdays: January 28th, February 18th and March 11th. Pickup times for each Saturday will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Children’s room. STEAM Projects are limited and will be given out while supplies last.

For Black History Month, children are invited to come to the library to listen to the story of Molly Bannaky, on February 9th from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Molly was a 15th century English indentured servant, whose African American family has experienced the many historical milestones of the United States. Her story will be presented by her 10th generation granddaughter, Monica Scott. This program is recommended for children ages 9 to 12.

Also, Miss Sami, one of the librarians here are Morris County Library will be hosting a Paint and Sip event for children ages 8 to 14. The event will take place on February 15th from 3 to 4 PM. Due to a limited number of supplies, registration will be required for this event.

Looking from a more musical event? On Thursday, February 16th from 3 to 4 PM, Way Past Midnight will be live in concert with songs in celebration of Black History Month! This program is open to children of all ages.

Lastly, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM on Thursday, March 2nd, author and illustrator Jay Cooper will be making a special visit to the library. At this event children will get to participate in an interactive cartoon drawing game. This program is recommended for children ages 5 to 12.

Space is limited, and no registration is required for our winter children’s programs unless otherwise stated. All programs will be first come, first served. Contact the Children's Department at 973-285-6980 with any questions.
