Published on September 05, 2022
We’re gearing up for a particularly fun fall here at Morris County Library!
Our popular Preschool Story Time and Music with Mr. Laurence sessions return on Tuesday, September 20th. Children ages 2-5 can join us for stories, fingerplays, and music. Story Time will be held each Tuesday from September 20th through October 18th, as well as on November 8th, November 15th, and December 6th. All sessions from 10:00am-10:30am.
If you’re feeling lucky, stop by to Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin from October 3rd through October 26th. If you guess correctly, the pumpkin is yours to take home! Winner will be notified on October 31st. For children of all ages.
With Spooky Season upon us, we can’t wait to see your awesome costumes! Come show them off at the Children’s Halloween Parade on October 20th, from 3:00pm-3:30pm. Participants can “trick or treat” through the library for some fun take-home surprises. For children of all ages.
Also on October 20th, join us for the Sleepy Hollow Halloween Show from 3:30pm-4:15pm, presented by Kit's Interactive Theater. We all know the story of the Headless Horseman, but do you know what happens after that story ends? Come find out in this one-of-a-kind show, open to children ages 5-12. This program is sponsored by the Morris County Library Foundation.
On November 10th, from 3:30pm-4:15pm, come and learn about some exotic animal friends with Eyes of the Wild, a New Jersey based animal refuge. For children ages 3 and up. This program is sponsored by the Morris County Library Foundation.
Rounding out our fall programming is The Story of Ebenezer Scrooge, or “A Christmas Carol” on December 8th, from 3:30pm-4:15pm. Presented by Traveling Lantern Theater Company, this classic holiday tale is sure to delight! For children ages 4-12. This program is sponsored by the Morris County Library Foundation.
Space is limited, and no registration is required for our fall children’s programs. All programs will be first come, first served. Contact the Children's Department at 973-285-6980 with any questions.
