Children are invited to join Amy Pollack at the library on April 27th from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM for a special book presentation. Amy Pollack will be reading part of her book series The Adventures of Jelly Bean before leading children through a writing exercise.

According to Amy Pollack, The Adventures of Jelly Bean is about "the adventures of a forthright fourth grader, and her ups and downs dealing with three older brothers, friends, some of whom aren’t always the nicest, deciding where she fits in the scheme of things vis-a-vis popularity and whether or not it’s worth achieving. And those aren’t the only issues she confronts. In short, my stories about a young girl learning to make good choices, and to think for herself."

After reading from her book, Amy Pollack will lead a writing exercise that will give children the chance to either predict the ending of Jelly Bean's story or write the beginning of their own stories! Children will then be given the chance to share what they wrote before discussing the writing process and what makes a good story.

This program is recommended for children in grades 3 to 6. Space is limited, and no registration is required. Program will be first come, first served. Contact the Children's Department at 973-285-6980 with any questions.
