Morris Authors Day: How to (and How Not) to Start a Novel

Authors Mally Becker, Nev March, and Lori Robbins lead this panel presentation on top tips to start your novel and, just as importantly, top things to avoid.

Mally Becker is the author of the Revolutionary War Mystery series. The first two books in the series, The Turncoat’s Widow and The Counterfeit Wife, were each nominated for the mystery community’s prestigious Agatha Award. The third book in the series, The Paris Mistress, was published in 2024.

Nev March is the first Indian-born author to receive the Minotaur Books/Mystery Writers of America Award for Best First Crime Fiction. Her debut novel, Murder in Old Bombay, also won an Audiofile award and was an Edgar and Anthony finalist.
 
Lori Robbins is the author of the On Pointe and Master Class mystery series and a contributor to The Secret Ingredient: A MysterWriters CookbookShe won the Indie Award for Best Mystery and two Silver Falchions for Best Cozy Mystery.
