Ballerina Noelle Partridge is crazy about Christmas. Ever since her mother's death six years prior, Noelle and her dad have taken it upon themselves to carry on her traditions in the form of the Partridge Christmas Extravaganza. Except this year feels different- her dad is acting distant, her friends hardly see her between all of her babysitting gigs and ballet classes, and Noelle has to make a tough choice about going to Beacon, a ballet boarding school that fast tracks its students to success. When her babysitting family, the Kahales, offer to bring Noelle along on a family Christmas ski trip, Noelle agrees, but is she doing it for the right reasons? And what's she supposed to do when the Kahales' totally dreamy older son shows up on the trip unexpectedly?

I'm Dreaming of a Wyatt Christmas has all of the stick-to-your-teeth sweetness of a Lifetime holiday movie, complete with the impossibly beautiful Christmas village and tough lessons about growing up. Noelle is a likable main character, and her struggles with feeling like her family and friends aren't making space for her in their busy lives will feel real to anyone who has ever been in a similar situation. As Noelle is only 14, the narration of the story is light and Schmidt does a good job of making sure her voice does not feel too old for her age.

Grab a cup of hot cocoa and settle in for some light, fluffy, holiday fun.
