Castles in Their Bones weaves a complex tale surrounding triplet princesses Sophronia, Daphne and Beatrix, as they are sent to three different kingdoms where they have been tasked by their mother to start a war. Empress Margaraux has raised her children with one mission: marry a prince from another kingdom and convince him to go to war, leaving their kingdoms vulnerable. Empress Margaraux then plans to sweep in and “save” the burning kingdoms from ruin, putting herself in the position to create a new empire.

As the three princesses are swept into their new lives and roles, their mother’s plans begin to seem far away, and the girls must decide if they are willing to betray the people and kingdoms they have come to care for.

When choices are made, and lines are drawn, each of the princesses finds themselves in a dangerous situation that could get them killed.

Sebastian's story is filled with sparkling palaces, handsome princes and the magic of stardust, but behind the dazzling fantasy is a much darker reality, full of secrets, lies and deceptions.

Readers may find themselves lost in three different kingdoms, searching for the truth hidden behind the glittering stardust. While the author weaves a complex story using multiple points of view, she does an impressive job giving each of her characters a unique voice. She creates a world in which each of the princesses’ face challenges that are unique to their stories, while also intertwining them with one another until the pieces come together in one shocking conclusion.

This book is a great choice for readers who enjoyed The Selection series and those who enjoy books about royalty.

The sequel Stardust in Their Veins releases February 7th
